Yang Yu is a lighting and set designer for performing arts, primarily focusing on lighting design. Her design focus is to use light, space and music to create an environment to enhance the story telling and emotion expression. She's also interested in combining different media and technology to create an innovative conceptual visual idea.
Recent productions include lighting design for The She's & Quiltbag (Weasel Festival 2019, The Public Theater), The Lesser Magoo (2019, Don Buchwald Theater); lighting and set design for Grand Rounds (2018 New York Fringe Festival), St. Vincent’s Project: Novenas For a Lost Hospital (2018 Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, off-broadway workshop production). She holds a MFA degree for Design and Technical Theater in Brooklyn College, MA degree for Fashion Design in University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and B. Engineering in Soochow University. |
