TRACI KLAINER POLIMENI is equally at home with the artistry and precision of museum and architectural lighting as with the color, texture, and movement of theatrical lighting.   As founder of Luce Group, she has incorporated the best of both into the process and design of all Luce’s projects.

Traci has lighted objects that range from motorcycles for the Guggenheim Museum in Las Vegas and at Rockefeller Center in New York, to a whale skeleton for the Nantucket Whaling Museum. She is currently the lead designer for the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington DC.

Traci has a parallel reputation for her theatrical lighting design. She is credited with lighting over 100 productions, which have taken her from Broadway, Las Vegas, and regional US theaters to Scotland and Japan. Her designs have been nominated for a Drama Desk Award, a Lucille Lortel Award and Metrolina Theatre Award.

Uniquely qualified to discuss the overlap of exhibit, architectural, and theater lighting, she is in demand as an educator.  Traci has been an adjunct Professor at UMass Amherst and the New School and has guest lectured at numerous institutions including Carnegie Mellon University, SUNY Purchase, and Smith College.
