SIM YAN YING “YY” is a theatre artist from Singapore currently based in New York City. She creates in the capacity of a performer, director, writer, and choreographer, and is particularly drawn towards intercultural works that challenge existing forms and boundaries.
Her original works include: I LOVE WHITE MEN (Caveat, Ars Nova ANT Fest, Dixon Place), Where Are You? (NYU Tisch), Without Reason (Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay), 06:58 (The Substation, Singapore). Recent performance credits: Mammelephant (Superhero Clubhouse/ HERE Arts Center), Strong Women Love Trump- satire (The Civilians/Joe’s Pub), She’s A Witch! (The Tank). YY is currently an artist in the Mabou Mines 2020 SUITE/Space program and was previously an apprentice in the 2018 Williamstown Theatre Festival, as well as a participant in the 2017 SITI Company Summer Intensive.
