ROCÍO MENDEZ is an Actor / Fight & Intimacy director / Teacher who was born and raised in Hell’s Kitchen, NYC. Rocío has worked with great theater companies such as The Atlantic Theater Company, The Kitchen Theater, Geva Theater, People’s Light, Actor’s Theater of Louisville, Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, The Flea Theater, The Pearl Theater Company, American Globe Theater, The Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey, The Classical Theater of Harlem, and The Brick.
Rocío has been on various short and independent films, and TV that have been featured on networks such as MSNBC and PBS. Rocio has staged and coordinated fights for off broadway shows, as well as independent films. They were nominated for the NYIT Arts Award for Outstanding Choreography / Movement for “Hearts like Fists” and "Marian, or the true tale of Robin Hood"with The Flux Theater Ensemble. Rocio won BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS for their role as Camila in the film Coffee and a Donut at The Festival of Cinema! Rocio is a team member of UNKLE DAVE’S FIGHT HOUSE -a collective of fight/intimacy directors serving off/on Broadway productions and Films. AFFILIATIONS:
