REBECCA PATTERSON is a Vancouver and NYC based freelance theatre director. Her most recent production was Much Ado About Nothing for Classic Chic at The Cultch, Vancouver.
She has directed over fifteen all-female cast productions for The Queen’s Company (NYC) including Shakespeare’s As You Like It, Twelfth Night, The Taming of the Shrew, Antony & Cleopatra, Macbeth, Aphra Behn’s The Feign’d Courtesans, The Rover, Sir Patient Fancy, The Lucky Chance, Susanna Centlivre’s The Wonder, Webster’s The Duchess of Malfi, Sheridan’s School For Scandal, and Marlowe’s Edward II. Her contemporary and classical work for other companies include plays by David Henry Hwang, Tony Kushner, Naomi Wallace, Jose Rivera, Terrance McNally, Liz Duffy Adams and Van Badham for Women’s Project, New Georges, Resonance Ensemble, Perishable Theatre, Theatre Offensive, Asian American Theatre and Theatre Rhinoceros. Born in California and raised in Western Canada, she has an MFA in directing from UCLA and attended Studio 58 acting program. She is a member of SDC, CAEA and is a dual Canadian-American citizen.
