REBECCA KANE (she/her) is an Astoria, Queens-based playwright, stage manager, and indie theatre producer.
Her writing has appeared in numerous theatre festivals and readings in New York City and beyond, with credits including performances at Relative Theatrics (Laramie, Wyoming), the National Women’s Theatre Festival, the International Human Rights Arts Festival, and more. In summer of 2019, her parody Almost Maimed performed simultaneously in LadyFest at The Tank and in the inaugural season of Rogue Theatre Festival. Her play Tight (Haha Nice), was filmed and streamed in summer 2021 in both Orlando Fringe’s DigiFringe and Rogue Theater Festival. In 2021, she received a City Artist Corps Grant from the New York Foundation of the Arts for developing a new play entitled Crawlspaceblog. Residencies include the Rising Sun Performance Company, Governor’s Island Laboratorium and Rogue Theater Festival. She has publications of many of her short plays through Smith & Kraus and multiple literary magazines. She is a member of Dramatists Guild of America, Rising Sun Performance Company, and PlayGround-NY Writers Pool 2022-2023. AFFILIATIONS: Dramatists Guild |
