RACHEL COVEY (Rae, to her friends!) is a playwright, composer, and music director. Her first musical, Painting Faye Salvez, has received readings and workshops at the New York Musical Festival (NYMF), the Library at the Public Theater, and Tuacahn Theatre. Her music has been performed at the York Theatre’s New Works Concert, the Titchfield Festival Theatre’s New Songwriters Concert (UK), the Chicago Dramatists Guild, the Allen & Gray Musical Festival, the Tin Pan Alley 2 Concert Series, and Under the Arch Incubator’s New Work Cabaret (featuring the national touring cast of The Band’s Visit!). Her other work has been performed at Capital Repertory Theatre, The Player’s Theatre, and Manhattan Repertory Theatre.
When she’s not writing, she’s a working music director — favorite MD credits include ME…JANE: THE DREAMS AND ADVENTURES OF YOUNG JANE GOODALL, 13!, HEDWING & THE ANGRY INCH, XANADU, and the Public Theater’s TWELFTH NIGHT (music assistant). AFFILIATIONS: AEA SAG-AFTRA ASCAP |
