PHINA ORUCHE is perhaps best known as supermodel Liberty Baker in the 2006 final series of ITV's Footballers' Wives. She was named Favourite Female TV Star for the role in the Screen Nations Awards. She has spent more than two decades of her life taking on other people’s identities, first as a New York fashion model and later as an award-winning TV actress. Credits on both sides of the Atlantic include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, NYPD Blue, Nip/Tuck, Charmed, Diagnosis Murder, The Unit, Doctors and The Bill. Her film credits include The Forsaken (2001) and Happy Ever Afters (2009). In 2010, Phina joined the cast of Hollyoaks as Gabby Sharpe, the head of a new family.
She recently completed her UK tour of her brand new one-woman show "Identity Crisis," which is based upon her own life story and explores identity struggles that are common to all of us. Identity Crisis has been nominated for an Alfred Fagon award for the writing. The show debuted at The International Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2016 and played at The International Slavery Museum 2017 and Londons Ovalhouse May 2017 all to great reviews read here in our tour book. Phina is also an experienced columnist Liverpool Echo and broadcaster, presenting BBC Radio Merseyside's Upfront, for two years. She has also made regular appearances on The Wright Stuff. Before her acting career took off, Phina worked in New York as a model, for brands including Gap, Avon, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Essence magazine and Old Navy. Phina worked alongside Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Kate Moss, Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, Nadia Auberman and Helena Christensen and was shot by the leading photographers of the time, including Ruven Adafanor, Steven Klein, Patrick Demarchlier, Juergan Teller, Nick Knight, Walter Chin, Marc Baptiste, Mark Contratto and Dah Len.
