MOLLY RICE is a playwright & songwriter whose work has been developed/ produced in NYC (Public Theater, Playwrights Horizons, Rattlestick, Women’s Project, NYTW, New Georges) and nationally (American Repertory Theater, Montana Rep, Trinity Rep, Kitchen Dog, Salvage Vanguard etc.).
Publications include American Theater Magazine, Kenyon Review, Play, and Indie Theater Now; commissions include NYU/ Tisch MFA Acting, New Georges, and The Drilling Company. Honors include Brown University’s Weston Prize, the International Women’s Playwriting Festival and nominations for the Kesselring Fellowship and New York Innovative Theater Awards. Recent productions: Futurity: A Musical by the Lisps, (book co-writer, additional text and story) at ART and Soho Rep; Angelmakers: Songs for Female Serial Killers, (exp. Oct. 2017); and THE SAINTS TOUR, a site-specific traveling play occurring all over the country (2009-2015). Future projects include a piece for and with refugee populations, through a 2-year NEA grant.
