MELISA ANNIS As a playwright, her plays have been developed at and with Parity Productions (2017-2018), The Lark and Dorset Theater Festival at the Theresa Rebeck Writers Colony (2016), The New School (2016), Primary Stages, ESPA*Drills (2014), The National Arts Club NYC (2014), The Playground Experiment, and RAL. Melisa was a finalist for the High Tide New Playwriting Prize (2015), the Lark's Playwrights Week (2015) and she won the Margaret Lamb Creative Writing Prize, and was the recipient of the Fordham Summer Fellowship while studying for her MFA in playwriting at Fordham/Primary Stages. Melisa's play Aberfan was published in Clockhouse literary magazine and her play Fit For A King was illustrated and published in Fourth Wall Magazine.
As a director, Melisa has worked at The Arcola Theater London, Shadowland Stages NY, Tangent Theater NY, Queens College NYC, The Abingdon NYC, Rebellious Subjects NYC, Theater Masters FL, Theater For The New City NYC and loves working with new plays in all stages of development. Melisa has also worked on three classical productions (Shakespeare), eight musicals and adores doing site specific work. |
