MARGARET MONTAGNA is a freelance sound designer, engineer, and technician born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She first got involved in theatrical sound during her sophomore year of high school, and hasn't stopped since. Margaret has designed for a wide variety of plays.
Among them: The New York City Premiere of “Queen” by Madhuri Shekar at The Black Box at Astoria Boys & Girls Club (2019 NYIT Award nominee), “Holy Ghosts” by Romulus Linney at Urban Stages, and “They Promised Her the Moon” by Laurel Ollstein at the Theater at St. Clement’s. Margaret was a sound design mentee as a part of their 2018-19 mentorship program, where she honed her knowledge of the theatrical industry. In her free time, Margaret enjoys experimenting with baking, and will sometimes bring treats into tech.
