LESLIE ISHII Directing: Perseverance Theatre: We Hold These Truths (October 2016); East West Players: Crimes Of The Heart, Dawn’s Light: The Gordon Hirabayashi Story, Taking Flight: The Katherine Cheung Story and numerous Studio Lab Projects; Artists At Play: 99 Histories; University of California, Irvine: Clybourne Park; University of Southern California, New Works Festival; Oregon Shakespeare Festival: FAIR assistant director and created the API 2x2 Lab New Works Lab in its third year. Center Theatre Group: Culver HS’s production, different words for the same thing, in partnership with the Kirk Douglas Theatre.
Faculty: University of California, Irvine (adjunct), EWP Conservatory, Center Theatre Group Young Audience Program (8 Seasons), Perseverance Theatre’s Alaska State Training Institute, American Conservatory Theatre. Leslie co-organized and co-directed, Freedom and Focus International Fitzmaurice Voicework® Conferences in Barcelona, Spain and Vancouver, Canada. She co-facilitated the launch of Theatre Communication Group’s Equity/Diversity/Inclusion Institute and is a facilitation trainer for artEquity. Leslie has been a featured presenter at voice and performance conferences in Mexico City, Mexico, Barcelona, Spain, and Vienna, Austria.
