Kevin Paley - director, playwright
they/them/theirs
KEVIN PALEY is a transgender artist who works to inspire a more compassionate understanding of humanity. They are, above all, a collaborator. Hailing from rural Connecticut, Kevin matriculated to the University of Southern California, where they produced, directed, and performed in 20+ productions in addition to studying abroad at the British American Drama Academy.
They also had the opportunity to co-write and direct Young at Heart, a TYA musical for Ensemble Theatre Company to perform at Good Shepherd Women's Shelters across Los Angeles County. Over the past few years, Kevin has had the pleasure of working with the Transport Group, NAATCo., Ivoryton Playhouse, St. Luke's Theatre, Glass Eye Productions, Open Arts Alliance, The New Ohio, Post Playhouse, Manhattan Theatre Club and Manhattan Repertory Theatre. They also star in Core Ensemble's annual tour of Equally Divine, a solo chamber musical celebrating gender and sexual fluidity, told through the eyes of Da Vinci's Mona Lisa. Noticing a lack of Transgender/Gender Non-Conforming representation in contemporary theatre, Kevin decided to create The Art Garage, a 501(3)(c) dedicated to the work of the Trans+ community. They host a weekly play-reading series for TGNC artists to further enhance their work and build connections within the Trans-Theatrical community.
