KELSEY CLAIRE Though she’s worn many hats in the theatre and film world, Kelsey works primarily as a director and actor in New York City.

As a director she has extensive experience in working in non-traditional environs - including Breaking Up by Michael Cristopher — a living-room drama —that was presented in an actual apartment. Her other directing credits include the dark comedies Hot Air - her own short play, Not Even The Good Things by Joseph Scott Ford (Off-Broadway), Deathbed by John Peña Griswold, and the television pilot Good Mourning created by John Peña Griswold.

As an actor she trained at the William Esper Studio under Bruce McCarty, and is currently working on a new development of Lanford Wilson’s The Mound Builders under McCarty’s direction.

She is the co-artistic director of Shiyr Productions - known for creating the party-theatre experience Overruled by George Bernard Shaw, and ShiyrShorts - an annual short play festival that develops new works in non-traditional theater spaces. She is a founder of Victress, a production company that focuses on creating opportunities for women in front of and behind the curtain and camera.
