KATE ASHTON’s recent design work includes Wozzeck (Des Moines Metro Opera), Josephine and I (Public Theatre), Turn of the Screw (Juilliard), Tales of Hoffman (Aspen Music Festival), Tango Song & Dance (Kennedy Center). She is the Resident Lighting Designer for the Williams College Dance Department. Kate is the Lighting Director for Fall for Dance at New York City Center, and served as Associate Lighting Director for Fall for Dance from 2009-2015.
She has also worked as the Assistant Lighting Director for both New York City Ballet and American Ballet Theatre, and Associate Lighting Director for selected projects with the Park Avenue Armory and Lincoln Center Festival. Kate’s teaching experience includes a semester as a Visiting Professor of the Practice of Lighting Design at Indiana University Bloomington. BA: College of William and Mary, MFA: New York University.
