KARA HARMON is a Costume Designer living in New York City. Kara’s work has been seen in theatre, film, television, commercials and events. She earned her MFA from Tisch School of the Arts for Design in Stage and Film and BFA in Theatrical Production Arts from Ithaca College.
Kara was recently awarded the 2019 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Costume Design for The Wiz! (Ford’s Theatre) directed by Kent Gash 2019, Motif Theatre Award for Best Costume Design for Black Odyssey (Trinity Rep) directed by Joe Wilson and Jude Sandy and the 2017 NAACP Theatre Award for Best Costume Design for Barbecue (Geffen Playhouse) directed by Colman Domingo.
