The Journal of Roots Music NO DEPRESSION Magazine Juana Luna is a singer, songwriter and music creator, who spends her time writing songs in English and Spanish, performing, and collaborating with creators from all around the world, creatively participating wherever music is involved. Juana's single “Los Verdes”, a poem by Juan Gelman (“Vienen cómo”) that she musicalized, won the Award for best Latin song at the 17th edition IMAs Awards in NY. Her first EP, released in 2017 was also nominated at the IMA Awards NYC as the best EP in the World Music Category. Luna is currently a Songwriter for the Carnegie Hall Lullaby project. She has also participated as an arranger for productions by Alejandro Sanz, Luis Enrique, Javier Limón, Marcos Valle and Jetro da Silva. Juana has been the musical director of Musical Plays like “1989”, and “Café le Monde” both sold out plays presented at the historic Connelly Theatre in New York (both directed by Tatiana Pandiani). Juana graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2013 (she holds a B.A in Contemporary Writing and Production). |
