ILANA BECKER, a director and producer, specializes in new play and musical development, community-driven projects, and education. Ilana has developed work at NYTW, National Black Theatre, Ars Nova, Dixon Place, The Lark, The Flea Theatre, O’Neill Theater Center, Columbia University, NYU, 54 Below, Disney/ASCAP Musical Workshop, Pittsburgh Fringe, and the Samuel French Festival, among others. She is a proud member of The Civilians’ R&D Group, LCT Directors Lab, DirectorsLabChicago, FGP’s PlayGroup, a Playwrights Horizons Robert Moss Directing Fellow, and an Emerging Leader of NY Arts Fellow. Ilana created Argument Sessions, a series of events weaving SCOTUS transcripts with collaboratively-developed original material. Ilana is the Interim Artistic Director of Company of Fools/Sun Valley Center for the Arts, where direction includes Life Sucks, Bright Half Life, and Striking 12, as well as developmental readings of Pal by Tasha Gordon-Solmon, and the upcoming commissioned TYA short musical by Maggie-Kate Coleman and Erato Kremmyda.
