HANNAH BENITEZ is an NYC based writer/performer named in June's issue of American Theatre Magazine’s as one of 6 Theatre Workers You Should Know. She’s a Cuban Jew and writes bilingually.
She studied playwriting under Tarell Alvin McCraney & Marco Ramirez at NWSA High School. She received her B.F.A in Acting from FSU. Her commissioned plays: Ashe In Johannesburg (Burning Coal Theatre), Give My Regards (Bucks County Performing Arts) GringoLandia (Zoetic Stage- upcoming May 2020) and the new book for the musical in development, I Am. Other premieres: Adaptive Radiation (Denizen Theatre). Her play Dike was workshopped with the New York Theatre Workshop for director Tatiana Pandiani's 2020 Fellowship project and subsequently received an 8 week developmental run (Urbanite Theatre). Other readings and workshops with The Playwrights Center, Artists' Repertory Theatre, freeFall Theatre, Red Theatre, Maltz Jupiter Theatre.
