DONNA KAZ is a performer, activist, author and a leading feminist voice on how to combine activism and art.
For the past 22 years she has led the activist troupe, Guerrilla Girls on Tour, around the world with talks focused on how to create humorous works to address gender parity in the performing arts. Kaz’s memoir, “UN/MASKED, Memoirs of a Guerrilla Girl On Tour,” was published by Skyhorse in 2016 and was named best nonfiction prose book of 2017 by Devil’s Kitchen Literary Festival. Her plays/musicals have been produced around the world including at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe; Lincoln Center; Women Playwrights International, South Africa; Dramalabet, Sweden; Women’s Arts International Festival, UK; and the City of Women Festival, Slovenia. Her awards include a Jerry Kaufman Playwriting Award, Venus Theatre Lifetime Achievement Award, Ian MacMillan Writing Award, Boundary Stone Screenwriting Award, Skowhegan Medal and the Yoko Ono Courage Award for the Arts. She was named a “Notable Woman in American Theatre” by CUNY-TV. Her new book, "PUSH/PUSHBACK 9 Steps to Make a Difference with Activism and Art" was published in 2019. AFFILIATIONS
