CYNTHIA L. COOPER (Cindy) tells stories in stylized plays that often address social issues and human rights, although she enjoys a dash of humor along the way.
Her plays have been performed in New York at Primary Stages, The Women’s Project (How She Played the Game), Wings (Slow Burn; Strange Light), Lincoln Center Clark Studio (Beyond Stone), Theatreworks USA (The World at Your Fingertips), Museum of Tolerance, Anne Frank Center USA (Silence Not, A Love Story), EST New Works, WOW Café, and in Chicago, Minneapolis, Washington DC, Philadelphia, LA, Boston, Reno, Buffalo, Montreal, Budapest, Jerusalem and more. She founded Words of Choice, theater in support of reproductive freedom. Her plays are in 17 publications. She has won awards from Pen & Brush, Samuel French Short Play Festival, Malibu International Short Play Festival, Nantucket Play Festival, Barn Theater and others, and is a two-time Jerome Fellow. She lives in New York.
