    BETH ANN HOPKINS is an Actor, Director and Producer. She is the co-founder and the Artistic Director of Smith Street Stage.

    Beth Ann just closed an original adaptation entitled LEAR: That Old Man I Used to Know, based on Shakespeare's King Lear. It premiered at ART’s Gural Theater in September 2019. It was her company’s first Main Stage production on a Manhattan stage. She will also be directing this piece along with Elliot Roth who will be the musical director and arrangements.

    Beth Ann continues to Direct for the Stella Adler Studio of Acting/NYU & Day Conservatory and this year was honored to work along side John Gould Rubin as his Assistant Director on Pericles; Prince of Tyre. She also works part time at One on One doing casting.

    Beth Ann filmed her first feature with Roll the Bones Theater Company at Grantstown Castle in County Tipperary, Ireland playing the role of Gertrude in their adaptation of Hamlet, titled HAMLET IN THE GOLDEN VALE. The group filmed a fully realized full length feature. They also created an Immersive theatre experience, performed all throughout the castle, cottages and surrounding grounds for two evenings for local audiences. Lastly, and in collaboration with the National Theater of London, the group filmed a Virtual Realty short film production.

    Beth Ann is a student of the Suzuki Method and has trained with Anne Bogart and the SITI Company, Eric Hill (UConn/BTG), Michael Place (P3/East).

    ​She received her BFA from the University of Connecticut.
