ARIEL FRANCOEUR is a director, actor, and theater administrator based in NYC. A performance-based director, she focuses heavily on the actor’s process and presence in the world of the play, often utilizing ensembles creatively in the design and broader storytelling.
Recent credits include: MegJoBethAmy & Louisa (director/devisor) - an adaptation/biopic of Little Women with a queer spin (Dixon Place/Center at West Park in NYC, LA and DC Fringe Festivals), and Shelter at Otherworld Theater in Chicago. In New York, her work has been seen at the Park Avenue Armory Studios, Atlantic Stage 2, Plaxall Gallery, Alchemical Lab, Samuel French OOB Festival, and many others. For five years she was the Producing Artistic Director of The Navigators, a Feminist Sci-Fi Theater Company, and is currently Assistant Managing Director of Planet Connections Theater Festivity. Upcoming: a musical version of Jules Verne’s From The Earth To The Moon with the NYC Fringe Festival, and the regional premiere of MegJoBethAmy & Louisa with Southwest Shakespeare in Arizona.
