ANGELA SCLAFANI is a New York City-based composer and performer. She was awarded the 2018 Richie Jackson Artist Fellowship & Grant as well as the Anna Sosenko Assist Trust Grant in support of her creative endeavors and was recognized as a 2018 Jonathan Larson Grant Finalist.
Angela was featured as a composer in the 24 Hour Plays: Nationals Festival, New Songs Now at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, Fresh Ground Pepper’s BRB Artist Retreat, NYMF’s Intertsecting Chords concert, and Songathon in NYC. She is an inaugural resident of the Orchard Project NYC Greenhouse, where she is developing a cycle of love songs from incredible women to their greatest achievements that will premiere this fall in NYC. Her debut musical, The Other Side of Paradise, which she wrote, co-produced, and performed in, premiered in 2017 at Ars Nova's ANTFest. The following year she presented a concert at ANTFest entitled Angela Sclafani’s Songbook: Live. Her recorded music releases, Your Ghost and Blossom, are available to stream and download online. Angela graduated from NYU Tisch with a BFA in Drama and studied at Playwrights Horizons Theater School, the Experimental Theater wing, and Stonestreet Studios.
