    ALEXIS WILCOCK is a theater director based in New York City. She is directing Elyse Pitock’s Preexisting Conditions as part of the 2019 season of Corkscrew Theater Festival for a run of performances in July 2019 at Paradise Factory. 

    She directed Emily Sorensen’s Shapes Like Things, A Soup Play at Wow Cafe as part of the 20th Annual New York International Fringe Festival in summer 2016. The summer previous she workshopped a version of the script under the title Chicken Noodle Soup in locations around New York City. Other recent projects include an all-female scene study of David Mamet's Sexual Perversity in Chicago produced by the Aroma Theatre Collective and an assistantship of Alice Reagan on Mac Wellman’s Phatheon at Classic Stage Company. 

    Alexis earned a B.A. in theatre and completed her thesis in directing at Barnard College in 2014, for which she directed Federico Garcia Lorca’s The Love of Don Perlimplín and Belisa in the Garden. In college Alexis directed Elyse Pitock’s play Grieving for Fish, which she helped devise based on interviews surrounding mental health conducted with Columbia University students. 

    She is an alumna of the Powerhouse Directing Apprenticeship Program at Vassar College, and has stage managed for workshops and productions at Dixon Place, the United Solo Festival, and the Foundry Theatre.
